the best ever birthday

seriously, this yr's birthday has been the best ever birthday i've ever ever got. it started as early as one week and two days before the actual day. the time when i went out with suikim and liting. it was already good enough to bring a smile to my face. i really love my friends alot. esp the two of them. i'm so proud to say that we're still going strong despite being in 3 different schools and all.

yups...and it started again from sunday till tuesday with different groups of people. this yr's birthday really made me realise how blessed i am with so many friends. whether or not it is best friends or close friends made in lower sec. every single one of them played an important role in my development as a person in one way or another. and the fact that they made it a point to spend time with me showed how much things will never change. we might not have spoken in a year, but when we do meet, everything would still be the way we started off with. and i'm certainly thankful to have them as my friends.

to those who are taking chi o levels. i'm typing this in chi. (=

ok...so let's recap.

sunday night (27 may 2007)
went out with chuting and eddy after chi tuition. we took a cab to bugis and the cabfare was a bomb. dinner at billy bombers. my treat since the 2 of them are freaking broke. (= shopped arnd both at bugis and bugis street. was attempting to find our prom dresses but me and eddy was so sick and tired at the end we really couldn't be bothered. and chuting was the one persisting throughout when she has hers settled already. at this rate i won't be able to get anything. oh wells.

then we went home. along the way we stopped at chuting's hse to pick up some vcds to watch.

went home. camwhored around. hahas. and then changed and blah before settling down to watch shrek. pretty cute show. dont laugh at me cause i havent watched it altho the third one is already out! by the time we finished it was already 1 plus. was pretty tired by then.

and they forced me to off all the lights and stuff and surprised me with my present! it's a handmade one. difficult to explain. but i'll let the pictures do the talking later. ((= i love it alot and thanks for asking around for all the msges and stuff. it's basically a metal box in which they put in small pots of coloured sand and formed my initials with these pots of sand. and there are also rolled up pieces of red paper on which they got ppl to write msges on. and small pieces of paper with quotes etc. pictures are also stuck around the walls of the metal box. creative no? (= and they also gave me this random cardboard thingy with clay and stuff stuck on it. pretty cute but...let's just say v artistic...=P (winks at both of them). and also a more random tray with msges written on it. so the presents were all really personalised and no amt of money can buy any of it. thanks a million zifang, chuting and edwyna! i'm really touched u guys spent so much time and effort and money on the presents!and so we camwhored around more and more and more till we got so tired and went to sleep at bout 3am! hahas.

Monday 28 may 2007
woke at bout 10.30. and we took really really long to get up and stuff because i was whining and whining that i wanted to continue sleeping and all. and we were doing all sorts of rubbish things on the bed (oh man..this sounds wrong.)

then we had breakfast. which was a simple affair. i intro-ed them to my fav childhood food. (that's our little secret) and then i went off for dental while they went home. i'm so sorry for causing so much trouble and all for changing my dental to the middle of the day. terribly sorry!

so dental and all. i was so so tired and my nose was killing me. i was sniffing all the way. luckily the dentist didn't scold me for not wearing my retainers regularly. hehe. but i will from now on. for the sake of the few thousand spent to straighten my teeth with braces.

ok...so i came home and napped for 30mins before bathing and rushing off to meet the rest at cityhall...actl i didn't have any idea who i was meeting or where i was going. all i could guess was probably meeting edwyna and zifang. the usual close buddies. and not to forget chuting since she was meeting me on the bus to harborfront like what we always do.

anyhows, got there. waited abit and edwyna appeared with peiting. first surprise of the day. (= i didn't expect peiting of all people since it has been like so long since we had a talk and all. but i was certainly glad to see this loudspeaker around. i still love her many many. (= and so we walked to marina sq. they didn't really know the way yet refuse to ask me. so we ended up walking a really long way. hunted around for the bowling alley (i didn't even know we where going there). but actl i could have guessed since they asked me to bring socks. hahas. yups. so being such lousy bowlers, we played 1 1/2 games each. and i can't bowl for nuts. but it was still fun with peiting's sudden outbursts and all. (= sorry if i looked bored. i was more of tired than bored. but i really appreciated it! and halfway through michelle and zifang appeared. more friends! so i gave mich my bowling shoes and she played the rest of the game for me.

after which we went over to new york new york! that's one of my 第一次 which i gave to them.(= food was alright but company was great great great! (= btw cherie came along too! but peiting kinda gave the game away earlier by asking when cherie was meeting us. but it was definitely a pleasant surprise to see her after about 6 mths. hope you're doing fine in nj and we should meet up more often! took crazy pics and all. and the waiters and waitresses there even sang me a birthday song. i was so embarrassed by the horns and tambourines they were using. but all in all it was a really good day! but i was just so tired at the end of it. i'm sorry if i seemed bored or sth. but i really really enjoyed myself. thank you so much for spending time and effort to plan all these. it's really sweet and will always remain as a part of my memories. ((=

school in the morn. add math was kinda a waste of time cause we ended 45 mins earlier and all we did was copy solutions for the mid yr paper which could have been done at home.

waited for pearlyn and then went to tangs just to get the otahs for dinner. went home and slept on the bus. i was telling pearlyn that i've never misssed my stop before. and she didn't believe me till i woke up myself a stop away from the one we should be alighting at. (= see i told you so!

and yea. so we spent the day planning for games and wrapping the 'parcel' for one of the games. and we were hiding the clues for treasure hunt and stuff. then she suddenly told me that she won't be accompanying me to harborfront to pick the rest as promised. i wanted to kill her and kept shouting that she sucks and that i'm no longer on talking terms with her. but i take back my words after finding out what she did for me today. (= see i'm nice pearlyn! and yea..so she helped around the house by making drinks etc etc. like what she said "i'm the maid for the day". thanks alot for all your help deary!

so i went to harborfront mrt myself. and was sweating buckets just walking down the hill. i hate the weather nowadays. it's so hot and humid and stuffy. the air's like stale and all. must be global warming. hiaz.

anyway, went to the i-nuovi shop first to pick up an eyeshadow for my mum. and the salesperson just had to drop it on the floor and the whole thing cracked. and so now we have to waste a trip down to suntec to get a new one. if the colour wasn't so nice, i definitely won't waste my time and demand for a refund or sth instead.

and yea...met up with the rest and took a bus to my house. along the way i realised that i didn't pick joey, jessica, linda and yasmin up. so i was freaking out and frantically trying to call them. yet none of them answered their phones and i was so worried. but it ended up that it was all planned for them to arrive later and i need not wait for them at all. so yea.

and yanping suddenly said she wanted to go to 7/11 to use the toilet when we reached. and i was trying to convince her that my hse was just 5 mins walk away. yet she insisted and i suspected sth. but i wasn't anywhere prepared for whatever was going on in my hse. the rest went up first while i waited for her together with limin. after which we trudged up the hill and was sweating buckets again. i really hate the hill i live on sometimes. but other times, i'm glad for the peace and quiet there.

so when we finally reached, i could hear all the commotion going on in the house although i was at the gate. Amanda was at the gate. i bet she is cueing the rest in the house or something. so they started to shout happy birthday and all while random people starting pumping makeshift pompoms in my face. sorry i was so shocked i couldn't make out who was doing it. all i knew was that my house transformed in the mere 30mins while i was away. and they stuck all sorts of crepe papers and balloons along the front door and the dining room. thanks for being such sweeties. must be one of pearlyn's idea. that's why she didn't want to go with me to pick up the rest. but you're forgiven and we're on talking terms right? -winks!

and so we started off with the first game-treasure hunt! they were supposed to find cards all around the hse and outside the hse. pearlyn did most of the hiding. and every single card i hid she took it away and hide it somewhere else. she kept exclaiming that the places i hid the cards were so obvious. but it certainly wasn't, as only 37 cards out of the 47 cards we hid was found. tsktsk. so everyone refused to give up so pearlyn, yuqi and i was just slacking around the living room while waiting for the rest. it was so hot all i could do was sit under the aircon. hahas.

so when everyone started giving up and coming back, we proceeded on with part 2 of the game. which was to ask any person you want the question on the cards you've collected in the hunt. some questions included things like "if you were an emotion, what would you be?". it was supposed to be fun if everyone was high and creative. but i guess ppl were tired and all. so it started to become boring after a while.

and so we played zip-zap-boing, murderer and maffia. it was rather confusing and all when pearlyn was explaining the game rules. but ppl soon got into the mood and yea...i guess it was alright. not fantastic, but not THAT boring either.

next was DINNER! must really thank yuqi for helping me play host and serving everyone bee hoon and all. i was so busy running up and down the house trying to look/get things. but i was happy doing everything. (=

so we just sat around and chatted throughout dinner while occasionally motivating ppl to eat. i'm glad i managed to speak to almost everyone. (=

and towards the end of dinner ms tan appeared! i was so happy to see her since i really didn't harbour any thoughts of her coming anymore. she kept putting off my questions and just said that she would TRY to come. which usually means that she won't. and she bought really pretty personalized cupcakes for everyone! ((= it was so pretty i didn't eat mine even till now. but i guess it'll end up in my tummy at the end of the day or sth. hahas.

so we rushed to take group pics and stuff since some had to leave already. and that was when the fun started! (= after taking the pics i expected them to go. but they still hang around and yea...

and i wanted to get into the kitchen to get a drink but pearlyn was standing guard at the door. and i immediately guessed what they were up to since my maid asked me earlier if i was going to cut the cake when i didn't plan to blow any candles this year and much less get a cake. and it was supposed to be an I&E gathering and not my birthday party. but it ended up pretty much like a birthday party instead.

and so i was just sitting on a chair with my back to the kitchen door while chatting with ms tan. and suddenly somone covered my eyes and i started to scream, laugh and struggle all at once i almost fell off the chair. hahas. and they attempted to force me to wear a shirt the way they forced sharon goh during her birthday. and yuqi was holding a cake right in front of my face. i was in such a state of surprise that all i could do was go "oh my god" a million and one times.

yea. and they did the usual birthday song crescent style while i covered my eyes and laughed in embarrassment. made a wish and blew out the candles. yuqi was complaining of my saliva. but hey! i got to blow out the candles in one breath so that my wish would come true right!

yea...so gave out the cake and all. most ppl had to leave by then and only a few stayed behind to play 'pass the parcel'. but nonetheless it was madness and fun! i was glad that i was the 'dj' and need not do all the silly forfeits. actually pearlyn was the one who came up with most of them and the most ironical part was she had to do about 4 forfeits in total! so funny. but she was a good sport. (= michelle was so hilarious too! shall put up the video once i get it. laugh till my stomach hurt.

yup. so we sat around and talked till bout 9.45. that was when everyone decided to go home as there was still school the next day. walked them down the hill.

i was so happy i couldn't stop smiling while walking up and i'm pretty sure i looked like a weirdo. but i was really really so happy. it's definitely the best birthday i've ever got in my 16 years of life and i was really really overjoyed.

and the gathering/party was the first party in which i was not stress/angry at all. i'm glad to have ppl like pearlyn and yuqi around to help me conduct games, get everyone to settle down etc. and not to forget the sec 4s for coming down in spite of the need to start mugging. and of course the sweet juniors for coming although we are not that close. i'm really really exhilerated. ((= words cannot describe what i'm feeling.

although last night marked the end of my birthday celebrations, i'm really happy and have no regrets as to inviting ppl over on my special day. to think that i once wanted to spend the day alone and just with a few close friends.

ok...this is a super long entry and there's still alot more i want to say. but i'm really tired and i'll do more updates once i get the pics from the rest.
